Vince McMahon Reportedly Targeting 2020 As Launch Date For XFL Revival; How WWE Could Be Involved

PWInsider.com is reporting there is a current plan for Vince McMahon to bring back the XFL in 2020.

According to the report, the WWE production team is working on video material to promote the return of the league; the two year wait is reportedly due to building a proper infrastructure for the league which would include coaches and players. The first incarnation of the XFL was announced on February 3, 2000 and the first game was played a year (to the day) later.

Brad Shepard, who first broke the news about Vince McMahon looking to revive the league, said some kind of an announcement regarding the league is expected tomorrow.

McMahon reportedly launched his new ‘Alpha Entertainment LLC’ to pursue potential sports and entertainment projects, and it was later reported that the XFL would be one of those, and trademarks were later filed. McMahon also sold 3.34 million shares of WWE stock (valued at about $105 million currently) to fund his new Alpha Entertainment LLC company, further adding to the reports that he was looking to get back into football.
