Impact Wrestling star Jake Crist recently spoke with the Orlando Sentinel; you can read a few highlights below:
Jake Crist on spending time away from the ring before signing with Impact Wrestling:
“I wanted to try and find who I was as a person and relate that to the crowd and the TV audience. I’ve spent a lot of time in different organizations the last couple of years trying to find the perfect fit. … Being a part of Impact meant I was able to get rid of my ‘shoot’ [side] jobs.”
Jake comments on teaming with his brother in Impact after a long journey on the indies:
“It took 15 years to get to this point, but in a way I’m happy it took us this long. We’re ready. It’s been a long road for my brother and I. It’s a dream come true to be able to travel the world with your best friend always there to have your back.”
Crist comments on having fun in the ring:
“We have little jabs at each other, usually just about our in-ring work and who’s better – always trying to one-up each other. We kid about everything, even down to, ‘Did you see how the crowd popped when I gave them that look?’ Not long ago, Dave was in the ring and coming for a hot tag, and I yelled at him, ‘Reach for the star!’ It made him laugh. When you add Sami [Callihan] into the mix, he’s like-minded, and so we fit together really well.”
