Welterweight Wrestling 2 Update: Ophidian, Cole Radrick, Sage Philips & MORE Added To 10/22 iPPV On FITE

The following press release is from Welterweight Wrestling:

Welterweight Wrestling 2 Update – Ophidian, Cole Radrick, Sage Philips & Others Added To October 22 Live HD iPPV On FITE

Hot off of the critically acclaimed debut event, Welterweight Wrestling 2 picks up where the inaugural event left off. With a young, hungry roster of professional wrestlers 185 lbs and under, many overlooked, underappreciated, or deemed to be this generation’s version of “too small to be in the main event”, just like cruiserweights and junior heavyweights in eras before them. Now, these athletes get their chance to compete on a level playing field, where size won’t hinder them, and the size of their heart can propel them to greatness! See the action unfold 100% live on Sunday, October 22 at 5PM EST in a 3-camera full-HD shoot that captures every second of the high-octane, adrenaline-fueled action!

Many fast-rising stars the wrestling world are talking about have already been announced for this event, including Welterweight Champion Ace Perry, Jason “The Gift” Kincaid, Anthony Henry, Sonny Kiss, Gregory Iron, Ace Austin and many others! Here are the latest talents to add their names to the Welterweight 2 roster!

Welterweight Wrestling welcomes Ophidian

Age: 30
Height: 5’7
Weight: 160lbs
Years Pro: 10
Hometown: The Snake Pit in Philadelphia, PA

“Master of Snake Style” and “Serpent of the Nile” stole the show according to many at the inaugural Welterweight Wrestling event in his Qualifying Round effort against “New Age Plague” Gory. While it wasn’t a winning effort on that night, it was clear the match could have gone either way and, if not for a couple of bad breaks, we could very well be looking at Ophidian as Welterweight Champion today. Ophidian brings perhaps the most diverse and difficult-to-scout hybrid style in the field, as he has studied virtually every wrestling style, and stays at the top of his game as he is in a ring every single day, whether it be competing or training the next generation of athletes as a head trainer of the Wrestle Factory. This combined with his amazing body control allows him to slither in and out of offensive situations with amazing ease and fludity, making him very difficult to be tracked by opponents. Ophidian is looking to be the talk of Welterweight Wrestling 2 as well, but in a winning effort. Based on his track record all over the world, that scenario seems very likely.

Welterweight Wrestling 2 welcomes Cole Radrick

Age: 20
Height: 5’9
Weight: 185 lbs
Years Pro: 2
Hometown: Dayton, Ohio by way of Spencer, Indiana

Young energetic mid-west upstart is known for his reckelss abandon and willingness to sacrifice his own well-being. He lives in the moment, in the here and the now, without worrying about consequence or reprecussions. After all, as he would say, “Raddy Dies In The End” anyway. Radrick, along with Sage Philips, has become among the most well-traveled athletes of his age range, appearing all over the midwest and into the east coast. Radrick also has wins over such midwest icons as Sami Callihan and Jake Crist. While Cole has competed in a Welterweight Showcase match before, this will be his first time on one of our live iPPV spectaculars. Will Radrick throw caution to the wind and make sure everyone is talking about him by night’s end or will he simply crash and burn?

Welterweight Wrestling 2 welcomes Sage Philips

Age: 22
Height: 5’6″
Weight: 160 lbs
Years Pro: 2
From: Bloomington, Indiana

A story of childhood dreams, struggles, and ultimate redemption, Sage Philips faced a career-threatening knee injury in just his rookie year. After six months of grueling rehab, Sage made his return in grand fashion, as one of his first matches back was at Welterweight Wrestling’s inaugural event! Sage fought valiantly in a four-way wild-card qualifying match and, while he did not advance to the finals, his heart and fight earned him the right to become an area mainstay. Energetic and athletic in the ring, and intelligent and calculated outside of it, Sage looks to use all aspects of his personality to succeed inside the ring. With his best years well ahead of him, will Welterweight Wrestling 2 be the continuation of Sage’s slow ascension up the ladder to success?

Welterweight Wrestling 2 welcomes Cornelius Crummels

Age: ??
Height: 5’7
Weight: 175
Years Pro: 1
Hometown: Wherever I Hang My Hat

Self-described “decorated businessman” says business is good when it comes to professional wrestling endeavors. Usually travels the countryside with friend and business partner Sonny Defarge, where the two have captured the CHIKARA Tag Team Championship and competed in the prestigious King of Trios tournament. Crummels appeared in three-team tag team action at the inaugural Welterweight Wrestling event, and while he wasn’t victorious, his team wasn’t pinned or submitted either. Crummels has proven he’s no snake oil salesman when it comes to his in-ring ability and his stock will only rise in value as he continues his journey.

Welterweight Wrestling 2 welcomes Tyler Nitro

Age: 23
Height: 5’9
Weight: 185
Years Pro: 3
From: Manchester NH

One of the fastest rising and most talked about talents in the New England area, Tyler’s wrestling success is a surprise to no one who knows him well… least of all to Tyler himself. A three sport high school athlete, it was always wrestling that Nitro excelled at the most, dating back to his first time on the mat at age 4 all the way up through college. Originally a Montana native, Tyler traveled the country to chase a dream, training with well-known names in the New York/Pennsylvania area such as Pepper Parks (Braxton Sutter), John McChesney, Bill Collier, Aaron Draven, and even a spell with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett (Kanellis). Now residing in New Hampshire, and with a resume from the smallest of events all the way up to WWE, Tyler has done more in three years than most do in a career. Now, he adds Welterweight Wrestling to the list! Can the self-described “Future of Professional Wrestling” become the future face of the welterweights?

Welterweight Wrestling 2 welcomes Lee Moriarty

Age: 23
Height: 6′
Weight: 180 lbs
Years Pro: 2
Hometown: 38th Chamber

The self-described “Black Dragon” surprised a lot of critics and insiders at the inaugural Welterweight Wrestling event when he survived the wild card four-way qualifying match to advance to the 7-Way Championship Elimination Scramble main event. One of the least experienced welterweights, but also one of the most confident and boisterois, Lee claims to have studied the teachings of his idol Bruce Lee, but his attitude, demeanor, and overall personality hold no resemblence whatsoever to the martial arts icon. While his athleticism, quickness, and striking ability is heralded as among the best in the organization, his level of respect for those around him couldn’t be any lower. Moriarty is convinced he will rise to the top his way on his own terms, and based on early success he may very well be right. But any similarities outside of combat to the man himself Bruce Lee, may be more coincidental than anything.
