Mattel Talks Future WWE Toys/Figures

At San Diego Comic Con last week RingsideCollectibles.com and Noelle Foley spoke to lead WWE Toy Designer Bill Miekina about upcoming WWE toys and action figures collectors can expect to see in 2017 and early 2018.

Some of the highlights coming out of the Q&A were:

  • Mean Gene Okerlund will release in early 2018 after his Build-A-Figure series never showed up in the USA
  • Kurt Angle will be a part of the Entrance Greats series, which will consist of Elite action figures instead of Basics
  • Basic series will only have five figures instead of six starting with Basic 77 due to rising production costs
  • Dude Love is in the works and will hopefully have a prototype ready by Ringside Fest later this year
  • Several Hardy Boyz figures are in the works, starting with their Epic Moments set coming early 2018
  • More WWE Entrance Stages and Backstage Playsets are in the works
  • Walgreens will carry a WWE Womens Series that will showcase the female WWE talent and their title belts
  • Mattel is considering making a Retro WWE ring for the Retro style WWE figures
