As we noted earlier today, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has re-entered the USADA drug testing pool, which has lead to speculation that he might be considering a return to UFC for another fight.

The report, which came from the @TalkMMA Twitter account, added that a Brock Lesnar UFC return is “imminent”, and that he could fight in UFC as early as the November event at Madison Square Garden.

However, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Brock Lesnar re-entering the USADA drug testing pool is not because he’s planning a fight at Madison Square Garden this year.

Sources are reporting Lesnar’s contract with WWE expires not long after WrestleMania 34 next year and he’s already made it clear to backstage officials that he currently doesn’t intend to re-sign. Therefore, the decision for Lesnar to re-enter USADA’s drug testing pool is merely so that Lesnar can keep his future options open. As we noted before, Lesnar must inform UFC at least four months in advance if he plans to fight, so that the proper testing can be done.

Following his suspension last year after failing two drug tests in relation to his UFC 200 fight against Mark Hunt, Lesnar became eligible to return to The Octagon on July 15, 2017, one year after his provisional USADA suspension began. However, since Lesnar announced his retirement from MMA with 5 months left on his USADA suspension, F4WOnline.com reports a return to UFC at the November 4th MSG event would be impossible, as Lesnar will have to serve out the remainder of that suspension, making him eligible to return in December of this year.
