Reception Of Billy Gunn In The IWGP IC Title Match
At the G1 Special in USA which aired last weekend, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Billy Gunn had an opportunity to win the IWGP IC title, as he competed against champion Hiroshi Tanahashi.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reaction of Gunn being in the title match was negative. The argument was that Gunn was a top star in the US nearly twenty years ago, which did not translate to the live crowd. However, according to AXS market research, Gunn was looked at as a person of interest for the show.
Ellsworth Comments On Being Barred from SD
On SmackDown Live, James Ellsworth attempted to crash Independence Day on the show, but was interrupted by SD Live Women’s Champion Naomi and GM Daniel Bryan. As a result of his actions, Ellsworth was barred from the building, fined $10,000, and suspended for 30 days.
Ellsworth commented on the matter, “Day 3, no sleep, hope Daniel Bryan is happy, he hurt the hearts of millions of the WWE Universe members all over the world. #JusticeForEllsworth”
Alberto El Patron/Paige Update
Amidst all of the reports that Impact World Champion Alberto El Patron and WWE women’s star Paige have ended their relationship, with both denying the rumors, it seems like things have been patched up. Paige posted a pic of her and El Patron, captioned, “The love of my life right there, counting my lucky stars that I have the man of my dreams.”
