On whether or not he was telling the WCW wrestlers in 1997 that he wanted to put WWE out of business:

EB: I do believe I probably did it. Chris Jericho is the guy who brought up a specific incidence in St. Louis where he remembered it in pretty graphic detail. When Chris Jericho relayed it to me it was on Chris’ podcast with Bruce, actually, I went, “You know, I don’t remember saying it.” Like, I don’t remember vividly saying it but, God, that sounds like something I would say so I probably said it. Knowing myself back then and even now I’m prone to when I get passionate about something I can get passionate about it. I was passionate about being number one. I was so passionate about proving to the people who doubted us in WCW, who doubted me, who were trying to be loyal to both WWE and WCW because they had to make sure they could land somewhere regardless of what happened. I was so passionate about convincing them that my vision was plausible. I concur, I probably said it. I can’t recall it. No, I’ll say it, I did say it. Was it something that I said regularly? Was it something that I probably said once or twice? Yeah. Was it something that was deep in my heart? That I was like trying to put WWE out of business? Absolutely not.
