Figure Friday – WWE Elite Lost Legends Chris Jericho

Hey guys, my name is Matt Goldberg. You may know me as mbg1211 on most social media platforms. If not, check out my work on YouTube and Instagram as you won’t be disappointed!

Today I’m bringing you an all-new weekly column, Figure Friday. Figure Friday entails in-depth reviews of the latest professional wrestling action figures with detailed photos paired with wrestling figure photography.

This first one will be a little special as not only will I be reviewing a new figure I will also be reviewing and teaching you how to make your own custom Elite Goldberg figure to hold you over until his official figure releases sometime next year (hopefully).

For this week’s Figure Friday I will be taking an in-depth look at the new WWE Elite Lost Legends Chris Jericho figure. This series is just starting to appear at retail stores. Supposedly at FYE, Sears and Toys R Us according to reports. If you don’t like going to the store he’s currently available on Amazon.com and RingsideCollectibles.com.

Usually the WWE Elite series are numbered but this series was just a filler series between the normal sets according to Mattel, I believe. There are a lot of re-released figures in this set besides Jericho and Magnum TA, both the only new figures. You can see who else is in the set on the back of the box, which we’ll take a look at now.

Looking at the box you can see Jericho has the typical WWE Elite red/silver/black 2016 packaging. It changes every year if you’re unfamiliar. The only figure in this set that has different style packaging is Magnum TA as he was supposed to be released in the old Legends line that was canceled. So it’s a throwback to that series. You’ll see that in a future review on here I’m sure.

Jericho is placed in the packaging in his famous pose with his arms out while wearing his entrance jacket. It’s great for display purposes if you don’t open your figures. The RAW logo is on his box as this figure is based on one of his RAW appearances in the past. You’ll notice that on the current WWE figures, mostly for modern people, if you are curious why the show logos are on there.

You can see the illustrations of Jericho on each side as well as the back and stats about him. Not to mention all the guys in the set including Jericho, Magnum TA, Kamala, Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior and Shawn Michaels.

When you remove Jericho from the packaging be very careful when you try to remove his rubber jacket. It’s quite challenging to remove and there’s a slit in the neck collar as when you pull his sleeves it begins to “rip.” Don’t panic as Mattel specifically designed it this way to help remove it. Just be careful you don’t rip it more than it already is. I recommend pulling his arms back as much as you can then slowly working one of his sleeves off. You can’t really pose him in this jacket other than his iconic pose anyway.

Looking at his jacket you can see all the detail with the wrinkles, jewels and other designs. It’s a great authentic looking accessory to compliment the figure. See how he has the typical Elite style articulation with an ab crunch joint, ball jointed arms, legs and double-jointed knees. He’s wearing his purple “Y2J 2016” attire as well. You can see all the designs on his trunks as well as his kickpads. It’s a very colorful attire, which is great. Unfortunately this figure doesn’t have his newer arm tattoos but you can see the tattoo on his left hand.

Lastly, looking at his head scan you can see it’s a clean-shaven Jericho. A version of him we haven’t seen in a while. His hair is a bit messy and he has that cheesy grin on his face.

Overall, I’d say it’s a decent modern Jericho figure. I wish he had his updated tattoos and his goatee of course. It takes a good year or so for Mattel to release a figure of someone so by the time we get it it’s usually outdated. It’s still a great Jericho though if you missed out on his Elite 20 one awhile back. Elite 46 is currently online. That tells you how long ago it was. Hopefully his next Elite comes with his beard, scarf and the list so he can write up all of your other figures!

What do you think of this Elite Jericho figure? Does IT make your list? Comment below and let me know!
