Will Ospreay & Big Van Vader End Twitter War in the Ring; Complete 8/12 Revolution Pro “Uprising” Results Ft. Ricochet, Sabre, Scurll, More

A feud that began on social media back in June finally met its end in the wrestling ring, as New Japan Pro Wrestling star Will Ospreay faced Twitter rival and wrestling legend Big Van Vader at this Friday’s Revolution Pro “Uprising” event in London, England.

Their beef dates back to a match earlier this summer between Ospreay and Ricochet (Lucha Underground fans may know him as Prince Puma) that received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, for its athleticism and high-flying choreography. Vader, a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and three-time WCW Heavyweight Champion, took to Twitter calling the match “blatant acrobatics” with “no story” before setting his sights on Ospreay directly. The social media battle raged on for weeks, with fans taking to both sides of the argument, while the original match in question continued to garner praise and even light mainstream media recognition.

Months in the making, Ospreay and Vader stepped into the ring Friday night in front of a sold out London crowd, in a match that saw interference from Ricochet himself, as well as UK wrestler Pete Dunne. Featured below, you can check out fan-footage of the two’s entrances, but make sure you subscribe to Revolution Pro’s On-Demand service to see the entire “Uprising” event in full when it’s available next week.
