WWE star John Cena is the guest on this week’s sit down interview with Michael Cole and below are some highlights.

Cole brings up Cena’s extremely busy schedule, and Cena says he takes it 24 hours at a time. He adds that WWE is his home, and although he has been approached with taking some time off he doesn’t want to because he doesn’t like taking time off.

On being drafted to Smackdown Cena says he is very excited. On what drives him, Cena says he has an enormous chip on his shoulder right now to make Smackdown the #1 brand in Smackdown in WWE because Smackdown is a very special brand to him. He added Smackdown has a very special crew and roster right now and that makes it a very exciting time for the Blue Brand.

Cole then brought up Cena’s first match against Kurt Angle on Smackdown and how the bout remains talked about to this day. Cena noted his start in WWE had many ups and downs, and he compared the chance he got to the chance NXT stars are now getting in WWE. He added he was confident in his abilities when he started, but it was overwhelming in the beginning because he went from something really small to something really big, so it was a tough road.

On his WWE draft pick number last week, Cena said it’s all about taking the opportunities he has outside of WWE so that he can bring exposure to WWE and specifically the Smackdown brand. He said things like hosting the ESPYs can lead to fans wanting to check out Smackdown Live on Tuesday nights and that is what it’s all about to him.

Ultimately, Cena said his goal is to beat Monday Night Raw and prove that Raw is not always the “flagship” show in WWE:
