WWE Hires New Female Announcer Starting Soon, New Japan to Announce G1 Climax Brackets & Major Matches Tonight

WWE Hires New Female Announcer

WWE has hired a new announcer in sports journalist and YouTuber Charly Arnolt, who has relocated to Orlando and will begin with the company this week. Per her Facebook page:

“As of a couple days ago, I am now living in Orlando because I have accepted a hosting job with the WWE! This is a huge step in my career and I am beyond excited to get started this coming Monday.

I hope all of you will continue to keep up with me as I enter the world of sports entertainment—and I’ll still have plenty to say once the NFL season starts! As for BackTalk Ball, it’s on hiatus for now because I’m going to be incredibly busy—BUT I’ll be doing lots of personality-driven stuff for the WWE, so I’ll keep the sarcasm coming!”

You can check out a bit of her work in the video player above.

New Japan to Announce G1 Climax Bracket Tonight

Traditionally, New Japan Pro Wrestling announces the participants, brackets and major match-ups for their annual G1 Climax tournament at Dominion, however with the recent injury of Hiroshi Tanahashi, the promotion wanted to push back the reveal for as long as possible, in the hope that their top star would be able to compete.

The complete line-up will be announced tonight – or, more appropriately, tomorrow – during the Kizuna Road event kicking off at 5:30AM EST. IWGP Heavyweight Champion Okada will also team with this year’s Super Juniors winner Will Ospreay to take on Naito and BUSHI in the show’s main event.

For those who have never seen the G1 Climax, it is widely considered by most credible sources to be the greatest tournament in professional wrestling today. Some of the best matches of all time have come out of the G1 in recent years. It is a round-robin style tournament (everyone fights everyone, with pounds awarded based on wins) that pits the best of the best in New Japan against each other, in two brackets, with the winners of each bracket facing off in the finals, and generally receiving a championship opportunity in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom, their biggest annual show.
