The Very Latest on 8 Superstars Released From WWE, More Talent Releases Likely on the Way and Who Could Be Next

In today’s WrestleTalk News, we go over the WWE roster cuts and who could be next.

8 Superstars Released From WWE

Nobody’s favourite national holiday Future Endeavours Friday was last week, and we’re going to go through them all here, along with more superstars who could also be on the chopping block.

But first, here’s exactly who has been released by the WWE so far:

Zeb Colter, El Torito, Hornswoggle, Santino Marella, Cameron and Alex Riley were all released from their contracts on Friday. None of these came as a big surprise because they haven’t been used on the main main roster for quite some time.

Then King Barrett was also announced to be leaving. Sad, but not surprising. Reports of Barrett leaving once his contract was up have been circulating for about a month now.

But then came the big shock – right at the end of the day, WWE announced the departure of fan favourite, intellectual saviour of the masses and a man capable of getting every awful gimmick he’s ever been given over – Damien Sandow.

A number of those released have since posted statements about their time with WWE and their future.

Among them was Cameron, who doesn’t have a good track record of releasing public statements. Last week, she came out in support of Ryback’s controversial comments about equal pay in the wrestling business. Many believe that the statement is what led to her release.

She’s since released another statement backtracking on that previous one, claiming she was just trying to create a new heel character. Nicely done.

This might not be the end of WWE’s mass talent cull, though. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer and PWInsider are both reporting that there are more WWE releases to come and that they will likely happen before the end of the month.
