Impact Wrestling
The Major League Wrestling Twitter account recently said TNA is receiving rights fees for Impact Wrestling on POP TV.
It was previously speculated (and later proven to be untrue) that TNA was paying for airtime on POP TV, but this was only because of POP’s previous relationship with Paragon Pro Wrestling, who was paying for their airtime. A network representative previously issued a statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet about TNA’s status on the network, saying:
“IMPACT WRESTLING is a big priority for us and will become an important part of Pop’s primetime line-up. We have a wide-spanning, multi-pronged relationship that we will be monetizing and building together as partners.”
This would be in line with some of MLW’s other remarks about TNA’s payroll and operations benefitting from the new television deal. MLW also said new contracts are being offered and “sweetened,” in addition to contract renewals and possible spinoff POP TV programming for TNA in the future.
