Meltzer says the original report of Orton needing neck surgery (after the shoulder surgery he already had) was from November, and it was also reported by other sources, including Ric Flair on his WOOOOOO! Nation podcast. Meltzer said the story would have been disputed then if their source’s details were incorrect, and Orton got news he wouldn’t need the second surgery over the course of the past few weeks. It’s unknown when Orton did get the update, but Orton said in his Instagram post regarding Meltzer’s report that he just found out about the surgery report this week, which could be reason for Orton’s delayed response to dispute the original report.

Earlier this week, F4WOnline.com had reported Orton met with doctors this week and was informed he wouldn’t need neck surgery at this time.

Rusev

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also reported Rusev suffered a minor knee injury at the 1/9 WWE live event in Bossier City, Louisiana, but he should be back on the road fairly soon. Rusev said on social media he’s not injured on will be on the WWE India tour, and he is one of several wrestlers speaking out on their injury statuses online. It’s being said there is some ‘paranoia’ about wrestlers speaking out about their injuries (or lack of injury in some cases), and it’s unknown why there would be an issue other than multiple sources confirming this is the case.
