The following notes are highlights from the latest sitdown interview with Michael Cole, featuring new Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose.

Dean Ambrose says Michael Cole introducing him as new Intercontinental Champion sounds really good. Cole asks him what being IC champion means, and Ambrose calls it his life’s work. He says all of the running and training, and being a workhorse like the guys he grew up watching it what makes it work, and he’s a workhorse guy too.
Ambrose says guys have held the IC title but didn’t want to live up to the expectations of the title, and Cole asks if he’s referencing Kevin Owens. Ambrose says yea, but this title represents all of his work and what he means to WWE.
Cole asks about Roman Reigns’ championship win, and Ambrose says it is great for everyone, and it shows how Roman and himself have fought back time and time again. Ambrose says he nearly killed himself at Wrestlemania for the same title, then Cole says Ambrose and Reigns are ‘neck-and-neck’ in the Superstar of the Year Slammy voting. Ambrose says it’s cool and you *could* vote for Reigns, but they should throw some votes his way and piss some people off.
Cole again references Owens when talking about people being pissed, but Ambrose says Owens takes cheap shots and mocks his ‘Fight Owens Fight’ moniker. Ambrose says nobody gets in his head whether they beat him up or not, and if Owens wants to make this about more than the title, it’s a mistake, because Ambrose looks for fights like that.
