Ethan Carter III comes to the ring flanked by some models and a barbershop quintet, and he says tonight is for America! He says he is number one and it’s a celebration, and the quintet sings ‘he’s the number one contender’ while balloons fall from the rafters. Ethan says he knows Tyrus is so excited he wants to dance, but this is serious business and he has one conquest left. He calls Kurt Angle to the ring so they can celebrate his last days as a world champion.
Kurt comes out and says Ethan is in line and he would love to shut him up, but he’s not next in line. Ethan says he’s number one and that matters, but Kurt says there’s a letter he should worry about, and that’s X, as in X Division Champion Rockstar Spud. Ethan says that’s not the plan and Spud doesn’t deserve it, so he will make Spud an offer he can’t refuse and leaves with his posse.
Lashley vs Eric Young
Lashley hiptosses Eric in the ring, but Eric runs away and tries to elbow him. Lashley avoids it and slams him into the apron, then he charges the corner but Eric blocks with an elbow. Lashley comes back with a clothesline and a vertical suplex, then he goes for a spear but Eric is close to the turnbuckles and Lashley tackles him into them. Eric catches Lashley with a forearm before he kicks him outside, then he hits a neckbreaker and goes for a Figure Four. Lashley kicks him outside and Eric heads up top, but Lashley blocks a double sledge and hits a belly-to-belly throw. Lashley hits a spinebuster for two, then he goes for a Dominator but Eric blocks, so Lashley calls for a powerslam but that is blocked as well. Eric hits Lashley and they tangle in the corner, then Chris Melendez makes his way out as Lashley spears Eric for the win.
Winner – Lashley
Sarge goes after Eric after the bell, but Lashley holds him back as Eric retreats.
