NXT Touring Internationally in 2016? Ring of Honor & New Japan to Announce Matches for “Global Wars” & “War of the Worlds”

ROH/New Japan Update

Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will begin announcing matches for their co-produced “Global Wars” and “War of the Worlds” event on Monday.

NXT Touring Internationally?

According to a live report sent to f4wonline.com, William Regal told fans at one of his recent UK one-man shows that WWE was already planning to run NXT events internationally, and that they would happen within 18 months.

The most cost effective scenario would be WWE bringing a dozen or more NXT stars with them on one of their two annual UK/European tours, which generally take place after WrestleMania and before Christmas. There’s been no official talk from the company, so this is pure speculation, but combining the rosters would allow some of the developmental talent to work main roster live events, and they can use some of the main roster stars to supplement the NXT events.

They’ve already shown with the San Jose live show that if booked in conjunction with a big event, NXT can pack a mid-sized venue. This is a huge long shot, but if they planned it correctly they could even run one of the Takeover events live from London, as the WWE Network allows them to do things earlier in the day unlike traditional PPV, which would ultimately suffer in viewership for a big event.
