Perro Aguayo Jr. Service Held at Lucha Underground Tapings; Various Promotions Paying Their Respects This Week

el hijo del perro aguayoAccording to the Wrestling Observer Radio with Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, Lucha Underground informed all the press at this weekend’s television taping events that none of the wrestlers were available for interviews. Konnan did work the Saturday afternoon show, and some sort of ceremony was held in honor of Perro Aguayo Jr.

Meltzer noted that he expects most of the independent promotions, who arrive in the Los Angeles area this week, to honor Perro Aguayo in some way.

None of the major U.S. promotions – WWE, TNA and Ring of Honor – have acknowledged the 35-year-old’s passing, although it’s possible WWE is planning to do something on Monday Night Raw or even at WrestleMania. In Mexico, virtually every promotion has or will soon pay their respects, including CMLL who are AAA’s biggest rival in the region.
