The Latest on Chael Sonnen Meeting with WWE & Kevin Dunn, Who Set Up the Meeting and What Role Does WWE Want Sonnen to Play?

wrestlemaniaAccording to The Wrestling Observer, Chael Sonnen was indeed invited to WrestleMania weekend, despite WWE denying the company invited the former UFC fighter to attend the weekend events. Sonnen will reportedly have an unofficial talk with Kevin Dunn.

Sonnen will be meeting with Dunn to talk about a potential TV role in WWE, and Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco is the one who reportedly setup the meeting as him and Sonnen are friends. As of now, it appears WWE is interested in Sonnen for an announcer role in the company, and it’s unlikely he will be appearing as a full-time wrestler.

With regards to Wanderlei Silva, he claimed on Facebook he too received an offer from WWE to attend WrestleMania weekend, and he later told Brazilian media that the offer he received from WWE was better than anything he had ever been offered in MMA. WWE officials maintain they have had no talks with Silva, who remains under contract to UFC despite being suspended.
