More Backstage Details on Jerry Lawler to Smackdown

One of the reasons why Jerry Lawler was moved over to the Smackdown announce team is to help build the credibility of the Smackdown brand and elevate it to the same level as Raw.

The idea is to balance out both shows and give them both an “A” level announce team to help rid the stigma of Smackdown being the “B” show.

Line-Up for Chikara’s Royal Rumble Matinee Show in Philly

CHIKARA will return to the Old ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA this Sunday at 2pm EST for a matinee event prior to the WWE Royal Rumble PPV about five minutes away.

The following has been announced for the show, which is titled “A New Start”, and kicks off the promotion’s 15th “Season”:

*Grand Champion of CHIKARA Icarus vs. Chuck Taylor

*The Colony (Worker Ant & Silver Ant & Fire Ant) vs. Jakob Hammermeier & Pinkie Sanchez & Soldier Ant.

*Eddie Kingston vs. Kevin Condron.

*UltraMantis Black vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado.

*Race Jaxon & Hype Rockwell vs. Missile Assault Ant & Arctic Rescue Ant.

*The Batiri vs. Hallowicked & Frightmare.

*Ophidian vs. Nøkken.

*The Throwbacks & Shynron & Jervis Cottonbelly & Princess Kimberlee vs. Blaster McMassive & Max Smashmaster & Flex Rumblecrunch & Jaka & Oleg the Usurper.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
