NXT TV Taping ResultsI was in attendance at last night’s NXT tapings and had sent in an initial spoiler report, and have the following details to add:

NXT TV Taping Results at Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida – January 15, 2015

Dark Match

Solomon Crowe def Jason Jordan

Crowe won with a rebound splash off the ropes.

Episode 1 (airing January 21st)

Announcers: Jason Albert, Rich Brennan, Corey Graves

William Regal appeared on screen in a pretaped segment to announce that the next NXT Takeover special would be on Wednesday, February 11th. He said since Sami Zayn needs a new challenger, they will hold a #1 Contender’s Tournament that begins tonight. In addition, since Sasha Banks beat Charlotte last week, she will be getting a Women’s Championship rematch tonight.

At the beginning of the show, Sami Zayn immediately ran out and jumped Tye Dillinger and tossed him out of the ring. Dillinger was in the ring as the show began, but Zayn had full entrance music. Zayn called out Kevin Owens, but William Regal walked out to the ring instead. Sami says he refuses to wrestle again unless Owens is his opponent, but Regal says that is not going to happen. He says Kevin Owens hasn’t earned anything around here, so he won’t give him a title shot when there are plenty others in line who are more deserving. Sami says he doesn’t care how it happens, and he doesn’t care if it’s for the title or not, and he pleads with Regal to book it as a non-title match. Regal thinks about it, and finally agrees to book Sami Zayn versus Kevin Owens at the next NXT Takeover special on February 11th.

(BP: Sami said it could be non-title if it has to be, but Regal never specified at the time he made it official whether the match would be title or not. It was later clarified in the tapings during the second show what will happen with the Takeover match.)

NXT #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match

Finn Bálor def Curtis Axel

Bálor won with a double stomp off the top rope.

NXT Women’s Championship

Sasha Banks (w/ Becky Lynch) vs Charlotte
 (c)

Charlotte won by disqualification after Becky attacked her midmatch. Bayley runs out and makes the save, and stares at the Women’s Championship after picking it up. Charlotte gets annoyed Bayley has it so long and forcefully grabs the title, then Bayley gets pissed and drops her with a Belly-to-Bayley slam. She initially looks upset at what she did, then Regal walks to the stage and says it seems like there is a lot of bad blood here, so he’s booking Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks versus Charlotte in a four way title match at the Takeover special.

Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy def The Vaudevillians

Blake got the pin on English. The end sequence saw the English and Blake in the near corner, and the referee was getting Gotch back to his own corner. Murphy catches English with an enziguiri from the floor, with the ref still turned, then Blake rolls English up for the win.

NXT #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match

Hideo Itami
 def Tyler Breeze

Itami won by pinfall after a sequence of several kicks, including a KENTA combination, some roundhouse kicks, a hesitation dropkick in the corner, and a thrust kick off the ropes. Breeze worked the whole match trying to avoid the kicks to the face by Itami. Very good match that got a decent amount of time.
