David Arquette On WCW Title Win, How The Idea Was Pitched To Him, Orton Putting Him Through A Table, More

wcw greatest ppv matchesActor David Arquette recently talked with Sam Roberts on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, and talked about his controversial WCW title win during his stint with the company.

Arquette began by telling a story of what happened moments earlier as he was walking in the studio, and said he told a bunch of photographers he hoped he ruined WCW when they said people blame him for the company’s demise. Arquette told Roberts he was just in a bad mood and hoped he didn’t, and didn’t think he did.

Arquette talked about how WCW told him they would put the title on him if he stayed around for a while, and thinks it was Vince Russo who pitched it to him. Arquette thought it was a crazy idea, but he went along with it because it was a ‘dream come true’ for him.

In addition to talking about WCW, Arquette also talked about his brief appearance for WWE in 2010. Arquette appeared on an episode of Monday Night RAW, and said it was fun working with Triple H and Randy Orton. He also mentioned HHH and Orton gave him a lot of advice before their angle, which saw Orton put Arquette through a table, and left him quite a bit of pain the next day.
