Update On Spike TV Replacing Impact On Their Schedule, Preview Of The New Knockouts Knockdown PPV (Video)

impact wrestlingSpike TV Replacing Impact

Several people have noted that Spike doesn’t have Impact Wrestling listed on their calendar for November 19th, instead listing the network premiere of End of Watch in its place.

F4WOnline.com is reporting this is a one-time occurrance, and Spike said the replacement was due to that night traditionally being weak for programming due to the Thanksgiving holiday. They said it’s not known yet if Impact will air on December 24th or 31st on Spike, which is Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Either way, the November 19th episode that was taped is the last show TNA had recorded, and no new events are scheduled yet. TNA is still waiting to announce a new TV deal.

BP: Speaking from experience, this is a great move, no matter what the contract situation is. The last thing I want to do, and I’ve done it a few times over the years, is watch wrestling at the end of a holiday night. Impact aired on Thanksgiving night with new episodes for a few years, and he feelings are the same for RAW during Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. I know ratings have a lot to do with it, but both companies could air some pretaped special (not just a new episode, but some theme) instead of  people missing out of storylines due to skipping the show.
