Al Snow On TNA Being A Major Competitor In Wrestling, His Relationship With Mick Foley and More

impact wrestlingFormer ECW and WWE star and current TNA backstage agent Al Snow recently talked to Digital Spy in promotion for the new season of TNA’s British Boot Camp, and he talked about a number of topics, including TNA being a big competitor, the state of wrestling today, and more.

You can read a few excerpts from the interview below:

Al Snow On TNA Being A Competitor; Does He Think It’s Impossible?

“No, not at all. Not at all. Back in the day in the US when there was different territories and things like that, one territory would get hot, become very successful and another one would cool off. It went that way. TNA has got all the tools to be a major success and a major competitor in the wrestling landscape.

“It’s just a matter of when, not if, it’ll fall together and click. Everybody will be like, ‘See, I told you it was going to happen’ when they’ve been naysayers this entire time. Everybody will jump off the bandwagon at that point. ‘I always knew that they could do it’. Sure you did.”

Snow on what wrestling needs to be ‘healthy’ again:

“Boy, that’s a tough question. I don’t know. I would say yes, but the problem is the wrestling business isn’t the promotions – the wrestling business is the talent. We’ve got more physical and athletic talent in the wrestling business than we’ve ever had in history.

“We’re missing those talents who can be a character and tell a story and evoke emotion properly. That’s what we really need. The more of those we get of those in the business, the better the future will look.”

Snow on his relationship with Mick Foley, and the heartfelt Facebook message Foley wrote about him:

“I wondered whether he was sick or dying, because it was so out of character! We’re good friends, and we go back and forth at each other all the time. We’ve done that for years and we will continue to do so for years to come, it’s just what we do. Mick of course takes it to an obsessive level! But that’s Mick.”
