wwe networkLatest on WWE Stockholder Lawsuits

As we have been reporting the past several months, numerous lawsuits have been filed by plaintiffs against WWE with regards to the company’s alleged conduct during the period of time when they were negotiating a new TV deal.

In an update on this developing story, a motion has been filed in the United States District Court of Connecticut to consolidate all the lawsuits into one suit against WWE.

On 9/26, WWE filed a motion also requesting the suits be consolidated, and as of now both WWE and the plaintiffs are awaiting a decision from the courts regarding the motions.

Updates on the WWE Network in Canada and The UK

WWE Network Tweeted the following, indicating the UK launch has been delayed as WWE is seeking to make the Network an actual channel in The UK, and not just an over the top online service:

“The launch of @WWENetwork in the U.K. will be delayed given discussions with potential partners. A launch date will be announced by Nov. 1.”

In related news, Rogers Communications in Canada, which hosts the WWE Network, submitted its application for the WWE Network to the CRTC on September 10th. Rogers is required to apply because the Network falls under the auspice of “non-Canadian programming.”

As we reported last week, the WWE Network is facing a potential problem in Canada and is fighting to say on TV as the CRTC feels the WWE Network is “stepping on the toes” of other channels in Canada, such as The Fight Network.
