TNA Impact Wrestling Results (8/20) – Hardcore Justice Returns, X Division Title Match, Last Knockout Standing, Six Sides Of Steel!

MVP, Lashley and Kenny King come out and MVP says he unfortunately couldn’t fight at Slammiversary, but his friend Lashley stepped up and said he could take the title. He still has it because Lashley has beaten everyone in front of him, and this match is a number one contender’s match, but they aren’t scared. MVP says whoever wins has already lost, because Lashley is on top and they are just being fed to the destroyer and champion.

Six Sides Of Steel Cage Match

Bobby Roode vs Austin Aries vs Eric Young

vs
James Storm vs Gunner vs Magnus

Everyone brawls before Eric clotheslines Aries, then Magnus clotheslines him and they all pick a corner to fight in.  Storm tries to escape, but Roode cuts him off, and they slug it out up top while Eric and Magnus trade punches in the opposite corner. We get back from a break to see Roode pulling Storm back in the cage by his hair, then Aries and Gunner fight in another corner while Roode puts Storm in a Crossface. Eric puts Magnus in a Sharpshooter, then Aries drops down and puts Gunner in Last Chancery.

Aries jumps up and tries to escape but he’s cut off, then Eric punches him but Aries slams his head into the cage. Aries hits Roode with a missile dropkick, then Roode comes back with a spinebuster, and Storm connects with Last Call. Gunner follows with a double clothesline before trying to escape, then Eric and Roode end up seeing they are the two men left standing after a Tower of Doom spot. They both climb opposite corners and drop down, seemingly both landing at the same time. Two referees raise a different man’s arm, and everyone argues over what happened as the show ends.

Result – Eric Young/Bobby Roode tie; decision to follow

BP: This was kind of disappointing for a main event considering the rest of the show was really good. I’m just not a fan of multiple man matches like this, especially where they just wait for one spot to end so they can start another. I’m fine with the tie even if it’s been done before; I expect Roode and EY to fight again for the spot and they always work well together.
