Paglino: Roman Reigns is on a roll right now, and I think WWE is trying to protect him a la John Cena, so my pick for Sunday night’s match between Reigns and Orton is Roman Reigns. Orton is an established guy, and non-title wins and losses don’t really impact him that much anymore, but Reigns has a more to lose in a Summerslam defeat.
Plus, with Daniel Bryan on the shelf, and the possibility of a part-time Champion on the horizon, Roman Reigns will likely get the win.
As for Cena vs Lesnar, I guess I’ll join the masses and predict a Brock Lesnar win. This will be a competitive match, and I expect Cena to be protected more than people might think, but ultimately I expect a Brock Lesnar win.
I say this not so much because a Lesnar loss would be a “slap in the Streak’s face,” but more because Network subscription renewals are coming up, and a renewal strategy might be to have Cena chase the belt rather than defend it at Night of Champions.
