8/14 WWE NXT Results: Championship Match Ends in Chaos, Tournament Continues, Bayley Prepares for Title Opportunity & More

BAYLEY vs. SASHA BANKS

Bayley takes Sasha down quickly with a roll-up for a nearfall, and they go into half a dozen pinning spots. Bayley holds on to a front headlock for a couple minutes until Sasha slams her into the mat and starts pounding away at her on the mat. Bayley tries for her finisher, but Banks reverses and tries to escape the ring. She finally does escape, after three failed attempts, and ends up tripping her opponent after using a 9-count from the ref. Banks goes to work in the corner, shocking and kicking Bayley until the ref backs her off. After a commercial break, Sasha is still in control with a rest hold applied. Bayley fights back and hits a few clotheslines, including a big lariat out of the corner. Banks responds with an all-out assault in the ropes, slapping her and throwing right hands and knees, until her opponent rolls out of the ring. Sasha hits the Bo$$ Lock (double knee backbreaker into a crossface), but Bailey transitions the hold onto her back and gets the surprise pinfall.

Winner: BAYLEY

-After the match, Charlotte comes out and raises the winner’s hand in the air as Bayley’s music plays. She gives her hand, but you can tell there’s a bit of heel condescension in there.

KILLAM: That was the best match I’ve seen out of Sasha so far on NXT. That’s not to say she’s a bad worker by any means, she juts usually doesn’t have a lot of finesse to her kit, and rather prefers slaps and throws and other “cat fight” mechanics. Her finisher is really cool. Bayley with the big pop after the match is over. I’m looking forward to their match at NXT Takeover 2.
