What Happened After Last Night’s WWE SD! Tapings?

file_178449_0_450px-Este_es_SheamusA big brawl took place after last night’s WWE Smackdown tapings, as Seth Rollins, The Wyatt Family and Kane all came to attack Roman Reigns. This prompted Sheamus and Dean Ambrose to hit the ring for the save, and everyone brawled until the babyfaces got the upper hand.

Sheamus hit a few Brogue Kicks and Reigns hit the Superman punch to clear the ring of the heels and send the crowd home happy.

Update on RVD’s Post-SummerSlam WWE Status

According to PWInsider.com, word coming from backstage in WWE is that Rob Van Dam might be taking his next hiatus from the company after SummerSlam this year. As of now, RVD is not booked for the PPV this weekend.

Paglino: While I understand why WWE keeps RVD around (and other part-timers for that matter), I personally won’t mind when guys like him and Chris Jericho take their next breaks from the company.

I enjoy their work just fine, but what longterm purpose does a guy like RVD serve in WWE? When he returns does he elevate people? Does he participate in interesting story lines/feuds? No. Why? Because he’s on his way back out in a couple months.

Personally, I’d rather WWE cut its losses with a guy like RVD so creative can focus on finding a solid direction for full-time talents who are in major need of a worthwhile angle in WWE.

Here’s a question for the comment section: Would you rather see RVD and Jericho stick around for the next two months and then leave again, or have the creative team invest in the now-defunct “Nation 2.0” stable?
