WWE has just released the following statement:
WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.
Del Rio signed with WWE in 2009 and spent a year in their developmental program prior to debuting on Smackdown in June of 2010. He is a former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, Money in the Bank winner, and winner of the 2011 Royal Rumble match.

KILLAM: Even Emma got the “we wish you will in your future endeavors” treatment when she stole from Walmart. There’s got to be more to the story than del Rio getting into a backstage fight, unless somebody in management really didn’t like him, or he was already on thin ice. Maybe if his lawyer says it was an accident, they’ll hire him back in a couple of hours.
