Top Stars Missing WWE Television Tapings Tonight, Is Ricky Steamboat Eyeing a Return To The Ring?

WWE Television Tapings

WWE television tapingsWWE will be taping WWE Main Event and WWE Smackdown from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas tonight. WWE.com does not have John Cena, Triple H or Roman Reigns advertised for the show. The names being advertised include Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Big Show and Randy Orton.

As of now, WWE Main Event will air live on the WWE Network at 8pm and will feature AJ Lee’s return. In case you missed it, AJ Lee was thrown off the stage on Smackdown last week by Paige, her opponent at SummerSlam.

As for Smackdown, the only confirmed segment is one with Dean Ambrose, who will reveal his stipulation for his match against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. He won a “Beat The Clock Challenge” last night, costing Rollins a match against Heath Slater.

Steamboat Talks Another Comeback

Ricky Steamboat recently chatted with FHM Malysia and was asked about a possible return to the ring.

“No, I’ve been there and done it against Jericho and I proved a point, so there’s no sense in jeopardizing that. Everyone who saw me work that match said I did good for my age. they have a good memory of that and I’d like to leave it at that. I do know some of the older guys who have come back and tried to work in the ring and it’s just heartbreaking to see. I don’t want to risk all that because the fans still have a pretty good image of me and my last time in the ring.”

Isenberg: Steamboat competed at WrestleMania XXV alongside Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka to take on Chris Jericho. After receiving praise for that match by many backstage WWE officials, Steamboat appeared on the April 6 WWE Raw in a 10-man tag team match. He would follow that up with a match against Chris Jericho at WWE Backlash, losing by submission.
