Swagger vs. Rusev Update
There has been some speculation following Rusev and Lana’s controversial promo at WWE Battleground, that his current program with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter had been scrapped. However, Rusev and Swagger faced off in a rematch on tonight’s WWE Main Event, with Colter cutting a backstage promo prior to the match.
And in regards to rumors that Lana and Rusev would be censored going forward to avoid bad press, the duo also cut a promo about the mysterious white flags being planted on the Brooklyn Bridge earlier today.
New Nation of Domination?
Big E and Kofi Kingston worked together on WWE Main Event tonight as an official tag team. The two have paired together in recent weeks a few times, but tonight was the first time they were given a spotlight and put over as a brand new force on the roster.
Perhaps more importantly, Big E and Kingston were escorted to the ring by a new manager – WWE and NXT Superstar Xavier Woods – who was dressed up in a white tuxedo and barking orders at the new, surprisingly viscous tag team. They ended up getting the win over another new duo in Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil (dubbed “Slater Gator”), using a combination backbreaker-double foot stomp maneuver.
