Details on Upcoming WWE Madison Square Garden & Japan Shows – Jericho’s Status, Ric Flair Confirmed; Is John Cena Flying Back for Both?

wwe headquartersWWE is running three live events in Japan next week – two in Tokyo on July 10th and 11th, and one in Osaka on the 12th. The overseas crew will likely be leaving immediately after the Smackdown taping on July 8th in Ottawa, ON, or coming back to the U.S. first and then flying out.

The recently returned Chris Jericho will not be accompanying the roster to Japan. Instead, Y2J will be attending the Madison Square Garden live event on July 12th, and the show in Wildwood, NJ the following day with the other half of the split roster.

As per WWE's officially advertised Superstars, it looks like John Cena will actually be flying back with Bray Wyatt from Tokyo to New York to make the Madison Square Garden show. The rest of the crew will remain in Japan, with Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville being brought in from NXT as well.

As for the U.S. crew, Cena, Wyatt and Jericho will join Randy Orton, Triple H, Sheamus, Alberto del Rio, The Usos, Goldust and Stardust, Rusev, "Nature Boy" Flair and his daughter Charlotte, Ryback, a returning Mark Henry, R-Truth, Fandango, Summer Rae, and Layla.

KILLAM: That is some insane dedication from Cena and Wyatt. They're looking at a 7pm show in Japan on Friday night followed immediately by a 16 hour flight – and that's if nothing goes wrong – just to make a 7:30pm show in NYC on Saturday. The time change will give them some breathing room, but both are advertised for New Jersey the next night, Raw on Monday, the live events that week, and Battleground is that Sunday. This is why they get paid the big bucks.
