7/1 WWE Main Event Results: Intercontinental Title Hopefuls in 6-Man Tag Match, Stephanie McMahon Appears & More

Dolph Ziggler, Big E & Rob Van Dam vs. Ryback, Curtis Axel & Cesaro

Ryback and Big E lock up at the beginning – and by "lock up" I mean they beat the hell out of each other and test their strength with clotheslines and shoulder tackles. Big E hits a massive belly-to-belly, and Ryback tags out ot Axel. Big E bullies around Axel as well, so Cesaro tags in. In come Ziggler, who hits Cesaro in the eye, and he rolls to the outside to check on his eye patch. The match breaks down and the babyfaces clear the ring of Rybaxel so they can cut to a commercial. After the break, Ryback is beating up RVD with right hands and clubbing blows. Rob with a surprise dropkick as the fans chant "we want Ziggler", instead RVD hits a series of running shoulder thrusts before Axel attacks him from behind. In comes Cesaro, looking to get his hands dirty for the first time in this match, but he doesn't last long and ends up tagging back out to the big guy. Ryback again works over RVD as the heels alternate in and out with quick tags and transitions. Ryback foolishly goes up to the top rope and looks for a splash, and Van Dam rolls out of the way and makes the hot tag to Ziggler. Dolph goes crazy on Cesaro with right hands in the corner. He knocks Axel off the apron and gets the Fameasser for a close two-count, as Paul Heyman looks unhappy, sitting on the announce table. Ziggler with a massive DDT on Cesaro, but Axel breaks up the pin. Big E takes out Axel, Ryback takes out Big E, and RVD gets thrown off the top rope to take them all down. Ziggler with the Zig-Zag from behind on Cesaro, picking up the 1-2-3.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler, Big E & Rob Van Dam

KILLAM: Hey! Ziggler won something! Solid Main Event tonight, mostly furthering the Intercontinental Championship, but with some development in one of the three different Divas programs going on right now. That's not a complaint, mind you, it's awesome – the more time these girls get to work, the better they will be in the long run. Happy Ziggler picked up the win – not thrilled it was at the expense of Cesaro, but I'm not sure it actually matters. The battle royal at WWE Battleground is starting to look good.
