Vince Russo Comments on How He Helped in the Austin 3:16 Campaign, Talks Stone Cold’s Career

stone coldVince Russo was a guest on "The Steve Austin Show" this past week and had plenty of interesting comments to say about his time in WWE, specifically working with Austin himself.

Russo, a former creative writer for WWE, said that Vince McMahon was not completely sold in the idea of "Austin 3:16."

Furthermore, Russo talked about how Vince would call him into his office to work on verbiage for many of the wrestlers' promos and said that he loved Austin as "Stunning" Steve Austin in WCW, but did not really know about his time in ECW.

When The Ringmaster gimmick did not really go over, Russo and Rich Baker met with Austin to talk about a new gimmick, one that would soon become "Austin 3:16." After this took off during the 1996 King of the Ring, Russo wanted to put "Austin 3:16" on a magazine cover and Vince said he did not get it and to take it off.
