TNA Impact Wrestling Results (6/26) – Monster’s Ball, MVP Fired, Replacement Named!

Dixie Carter takes the news of MVP's firing well, and says she is excited because it must mean she is now back in charge. Rockstar Spud tells her she got back what she deserves, and she makes him get a good bottle of champagne before they head out to the ring. Dixie talks about all of the wrestlers who tried to screw her over, including MVP, who turned out to be another guy who turned his back on the fans. She says this is her company and she does what is right, then Earl Sullivan Armstrong comes out and says he has bad news. Earl says he was going to name a new person in charge, but it's not Dixie, and the new hire will be here soon.

Dixie flips out and dumps champagne on him, then she screams about this still being her company and says they will get it over her dead body. Bully Ray comes out and says he is going to kick Spud in the face and drink her champagne, then she knows what comes next. Dixie screams at the fans to shut up, then she tries to bribe him with $200,000 and he asks the fans what he should do. Bully says he still wants to put her through a table, then EC3 runs in but Bully throws him out of the ring and sends Spud after him. Bully grabs Dixie and puts her on his shoulder, but Spud runs in and gets rid of the table before Dixie escapes with EC3.

BP: I know nowadays people might complain about this dragging out, but I am loving this slow burn. The tease of Dixie going through a table is great; Spud just makes it all the more better with his actions and mannerisms.

James Storm vs Ken Anderson

Storm hits Anderson a few times but Anderson comes back with a rolling senton, then Storm hits a Backstabber for two and motions for Last Call. Anderson ducks and sets up a Mic Check but Storm holds the ropes, then he slams Anderson's head on the mat and follows with Last Call for the win.

Winner – James Storm

BP: This seemed a bit short, but I'm OK with it since it feel like what could be their ninth or so match in this feud? I feel like I'm ready for this to be over already. Good matches by themselves, but when you put all of them together (not including the stuff with the Dallas Cowboys at Slammiversary), it feels like I've seen the same thing more than a few times.
