Bobby Roode Responds To “Suspension”, Vince Russo Praises Rockstar Spud

Bobby Roode respondsBobby Roode Responds To Suspension

As we noted, MVP "suspended" Bobby Roode indefinitely yesterday due to his actions on last week's edition of Impact Wrestling. On ImpactWrestling.com today, Roode responded to the suspension with the following:

"I think this is an abuse of power and I think this is bullshit. Two weeks ago, Eric Young and I tore the house down. We made a deal to do it again last Thursday night and then MVP inserted himself into this, had me thrown out of the arena and now, today, I found out that I’ve been suspended. Not only that, but he names himself the #1 contender and schedules a title match. Let me tell you something, if there is anyone who deserves a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary, it’s me. Eric Young and I have a lot of history and I gave him one hell of a match even after I went to war with Gunner earlier in the night. MVP hasn’t earned a damned thing and he sure as hell lost the respect of all of us in the back."

Vince Russo Praises Rockstar Spud

Vince Russo posted a new blog on his website today putting over TNA's Rockstar Spud. While Russo didn't actually call Rockstar Spud the greatest manager of all time, yet, he certainly  alluded to the idea that he could be, throwing names like Paul Heyman and Dutch Mantel into the mix for comparison.

Below is an excerpt from Russo's blog:

"Look, I know I’ll probably get hammered for saying that by the entire IWC, but I don’t give one, single damn–-not one. Having worked with literally hundreds and hundreds of sports-entertainers over the years–-I know talent when I see it. Once in a GREEN MOON even, does somebody slap me upside my head and say, “Look at me, Vince–-give me your undivided attention!!!” That’s what Rockstar Spud did for me. The second this guy came walking through that curtain–-he was a star. Everything about the wrestling business HE GOT—-and he UNDERSTOOD completely. From walking down the ramp, to holding the ring ropes open, to striking a pose, to speaking on the mic–-this midget of a man had the poise of a 25 year-old veteran—and it blew me away from the start!!! The whole package; the blinding wardrobe, the bow-ties, the 10 foot high hair–-Rockstar Spud just rolled it all out there as if he were Elton John hitting the stage of the Hollywood Bowl circa 1975–-MINUS the Donald Duck costume!!!

And, here’s what you’ll never see, unless you really understand what makes someone great in the business–-you have to know what to look for, and not everybody sees them; they’re called the “nuances”–the “little things” done by a performer that makes him unique, and separates him from the pack. With Spud, it was his stance, the way he had one leg pointed straight out, while the other looked to the right–-I picked up on that immediately."
