Why WWE Went With Tournament on Raw To Crown New Number One Contender, AJ Lee Asking For Time Off

aj leeOriginal plans for WWE Raw did not have a tournament to decide a new number one contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The first round matches took place and PWInsider.com is reporting this happened because WWE did not get good news about the recovery time of Christian.

Christian suffered a concussion and has yet to be cleared to return. WWE had all plans going forward with Christian vs. Big E, but his injury forced WWE to change plans.

AJ Lee's Time Off

F4WOnline.com's Bryan Alvarez has noted on his website that AJ Lee has asked for time off from WWE.

It was said in the Raw script that was leaked that Lee was "injured-TBD," but it seems like she is going to take some time off from the company. This could also explain the title change a week ago.
