The "WCW Greatest PPV Matches" DVD is the first volume of a new series WWE is starting which compiles the best of World Championship Wrestling pay-per-view bouts. It's a three-disc DVD set containing 21 matches from NWA/WCW events, which date from 1987 all the way through to 2001, the year WCW closed its doors. If you opt for the Blu-ray you also will receive four additional matches on top of that from the same time span, including the Thunderdome Match from Halloween Havoc 1989. Five-time WCW Champion Booker T is hosting. He appears in seven newly filmed segments for the DVD in which he discusses particular time periods of the company and introduces the matches presented. There's in fact just one bout on the set featuring Booker himself, which is the World Heavyweight Championship match between Jeff Jarrett and Booker T from Bash at the Beach 2000. The runtime of the new WCW DVD is approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes, with an extra 1 hour of footage exclusive to the Blu-ray edition.
