3/6 WWE NXT Results: Sami Zayn vs. Corey Graves Main Event, Adam Rose Makes His WWE Network Debut, Ric Flair Supports His Daughter

By order of the general manager – who we haven't actually seen in way too long – our main event is Sami Zayn vs. Corey Graves.

Sami Zayn vs. Corey Graves

A very angry Corey Graves attacks Sami immediately as the bell rings, pounding away with right hands. He locks in a side headlock and wrenches away on his opponent's neck. Sami breaks the hold and tosses Graves to the outside. He tries to fly – Graves moves out of the way, so Zayn bounces himself off the ropes, back into the ring. Loud "ole!" chant now from the crowd.

After a very brief commercial break, Corey Graves has a quarter nelson submission locked in. Sami gets to the ropes and the referee forces the break, so Graves levels in right after left hand, before putting the boots to him in the corner. Zayn builds some momentum with a few forearm shots, but Graves drops him with a back suplex. He tries for a pin but only gets one. Back into the quarter nelson hold.

Sami finds out of the hold and hits a big back body drop, but Gravaes catches him with a backbreaker for a two-count. They fight up to the top turnbuckle and Zamn sends them both to the mat with a high crossbody. He sets up for a splash in the corner, but runs right into a wicked elbow. Graves tries for Lucky 13, but Sami leaps out of it and hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. Zayn comes off the top rope, but Graves catches him on his shoulders – Sami counters out and rolls up his opponent for a quick 1-2-3.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn celebrates his big win tonight to send NXT off the air.

Mike's Thoughts: That was a pretty good main event with the ten minutes they had to work. Both guys are capable of WWE PPV level matches, and I'm excited to see them both on the main roster in the near future. A couple of people were interested in why they had Graves work twice. They introduced Sami Zayn to the WWE Network last week – this week Graves went over in a throw-away match, so the crowd got to see his finisher, and when he tried for it in the main event, fans were familiar. It was really just about booking a main event match, and trying to get both guys over.

Only one match to get excited about this week, but a lot of really great content to suplement short contests. Both Graves and Zayn are over. But are comfortable on the mic, and spectacular in the ring. The reintroduction of Adam Rose was probably the highlight of this week's show for me.

As the second ever show on the WWE Network, NXT still needs to introduce characters and almost start from scratch. Hence the title change. They did a nice job of that with the Divas. Paige is strong as the champion after last week, Emma is being broken down to make her stronger as a babyface, while Charlotte got a big win over somebody with Raw and Smackdown experience. Good growth in the women's division.

Adrian Neville is an incredible athelete, and one hell of a professional wrestler. But he got lost out there when a mic was put in his face. He rambled for three minutes, on what could have ben a strong 30-second promo. Bo Dallas is creepy, and I still don't really want to see him on TV, but at least he's comfortable with his character. Neville needs to gain some comfidence speaking, because he's our world champion. He's the face of NXT. Right now Sami Zayn is way more over. Hopefully he can grow, otherwise I don't see this title reign being a long one.
