Weekend TNA Wrestling News: 2/20 Impact Wrestling Rating, New Names Being Added to Roster Soon, TNA Losing Money on Live Events?

impact wrestling previewThis week's episode of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV finally dropped below average once again, drawing a 0.95, which is down from last week's 1.14 and a string of hugely successful weeks for TNA in 2014.

According to the Wrestling Observer, attendance has been so low for TNA live events that they "often" have to write checks to the venues to make up the difference. One example given was a show at Temple University last December which did so poorly, they wrote the building a $15,000 check.

TNA is expected to continue bringing in new low-cost talents to help supplement the roster. Along with bigger names like MVP and the American Wolves, the Alpha Female was brought in as a new Knockout recently. SHINE women's wrestler Santana Garrett, who had a brief role with the company in 2010, will be brought up soon, according to reports, along with Extreme Tiger. Apparently a few within TNA are pushing to bring Chris Hero to the company, but a contract has not been offered. Hero is working part-time for Ring of Honor currently, but that deal doesn't appear to be exclusive.
