Backstage Details on CM Punk’s Raw Meeting with Vince, His Future in WWE & How Creative Had Been Handling Him

CM PunkAccording to The Wrestling Observer, CM Punk is still being advertised for the Elimination Chamber PPV and might come up in advertisements for other events here and there, but he will eventually be pulled from any and all WWE event advertisements.

As has been reported, CM Punk met with Vince McMahon on Monday night to inform Vince that he would be leaving Cleveland to head back to Chicago, and that meeting reportedly took place at 7:30pm EST, just a half hour before Raw went on the air. The main reason why the Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston match went as long as it did is because it needed to fill an extra segment, as Punk was slated to appear on the show during part of the time the match aired.

As far as the creative team is concerned, they had been working for the past couple weeks under the assumption that Punk would not be staying with the company after his contract expired in July, and several people with knowledge of Punk's situation described him as "good as gone" from WWE come July, if he even lasted that long.
