Roderick Strong Injury Update

WWE NetworkEVOLVE Wrestling's Gabe Sapolsky has issued the following injury update on Roderick Strong:

"Roderick Strong suffered a graphic neck injury last weekend. We had constant communication with Strong since the injury and monitored his progress.

We were all the under the impression he would be able to perform this weekend at EVOLVE. However, today he felt discomfort in his neck when he worked out. After a conference call today, it was decided that for Roderick's future it was best he rest as a precaution. Roderick will still be at Friday's EVOLVE 25 card to sign autographs and meet you. We will welcome him in the DGUSA/EVOLVE ring when he is ready."

Why the WWE Network Won't Be on Traditional TV

WWE executive Michelle Wilson spoke to Multichannel News about the reason that the traditional cable/satellite distribution of the WWE Network will not be an option at this point.

Wilson noted that WWE decided to go with an "over-the-top" Internet-based distribution due to concerns over the WWE Network failing to “gain significant distribution” from traditional television-based outlets.

"None of those distributors were particularly looking to launch more networks; if anything they were looking to rationalize their line-ups," said Wilson.

"When we started to look at the economic tradeoffs and how quickly we could we could go over the top as compared to traditional distribution, it really became apparent that we could really give our fans a much better user experience with an over the top service."

Renee Young Note

In a new interview, Renee Young had the following to say about wanting to become the first female WWE commentator:

"I was doing color commentary down at NXT, and it’s been a really great opportunity for me to tap into my hosting background, using my brain and thinking on my feet. Being clever with it is awesome for me. I love being able to do that. I would love to be the first female to do color commentary for this company. That would be a cool thing to do. I would love to be the girl to take on that role."
