Chris Sabin defeated Austin Aries to win back the TNA X-Division championship tonight on Impact Wrestling. After the match, the breakdown between Sabin and his on-screen girlfriend Velvet Sky continued, as the new champ thanked himself for the victory and dragged her out of the arena by the hand. Technically he has been X-Division Champion for 29 days already, as tonight's show was pre-taped in early December. Even as recently as this week Aries continued to defend the title at TNA house shows to keep up continuity.
That makes Chris Sabin the first guy to win a singles championship in any major company in 2014.
