Update: Rumors on Brock Lesnar’s Return to UFC, His WrestleMania Opponent & 2014 Royal Rumble Status

Brock Lesnar newsDave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has confirmed that the recent rumors of Brock Lesnar heading back to the UFC were merely a publicity stunt, done to attract attention building up to his return on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw. Lesnar is currently under an exclusive contract with WWE that will not expire until after WrestleMania XXXI in 2015, and it isn't likely that Vince McMahon or Triple H would re-work the deal to allow him to have what would be a major fight for the UFC.

Meltzer's article is also claiming that Brock Lesnar will wrestle at the 2014 Royal Rumble pay-per-view this January. Given that WrestleMania XXX is still four months out, his return on Raw tonight will most likely begin a program leading to the Rumble, a PPV Brock Lesnar has not appeared on in ten years. Finally, it appears that the current plan is indeed to have Brock work The Undertaker at WWE's big April event. Speculation began for this match in 2010, when 'Taker was in attendance at the UFC event where Brock lost the UFC Heavyweight Championship and the two exchanged some heated (and apparently scripted) words.
