Backstage News On WWE Corporate Changes, Stephanie McMahon’s New Role, WWE Network Leaders

Stephanie McMahonWWE Corporate Changes In Detail

There have been several WWE corporate changes and shifts in the past few months. New titles have been given and roles have been changed. The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon will no longer be involved on the creative side of the business. Rather, Stephanie is being positioned as the new public face of the company.

Stephanie told The Observer in Santa Clara this week that she may have some creative ideas, primarily due to her being an on-air talent, but she's no longer part of the day-to-day creative process. As mentioned before, Vince McMahon and Triple H have taken those duties over completely.

George Barrios and Michelle Wilson are now holding very critical positions within the company as well. Barrios, who recently went from Chief Financial Officer to Chief Strategy and Financial Officer, will now be handling strategic planning and television operations for WWE. Most importantly, he's going to be one of the key people in charge of the new WWE Network.

Michelle Wilson, who is the new Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, will now handle all company revenue streams. She'll handle sponsorship sales, pay per view and new business development. Additionally, Wilson will be involved heavily with the new Network.

Barrios and Wilson reportedly have a lot to gain if the WWE Network succeeds.

To continue a little further with Stephanie as the new ambassador of the company, her role is to ultimately change the image of WWE. They want to reduce the perception of it being a Vince McMahon company, but rather a friendly, inviting company geared toward women — mothers, in particular — and children. Stephanie taking Vince's place in the public spotlight is being done in an attempt to make that transition.
