New WWE Champion Crowned on PPV; Did Damien Sandow Cash In Money in the Bank?

Mike Killam

Tonight at WWE Hell in a Cell, John Cena defeated Alberto del Rio to become the World Heavyweight Champion. In a back-and-forth title match, Cena escaped an attempt at the Cross Arm Breaker on his injured elbow, and hit the Attitude Adjustment for what will be his 14th world title run in WWE.

After the match, John Cena celebrated with his title and left, without a post-match attack from Alberto del Rio, or any sign of Mr. Money in the Bank, Damien Sandow. WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio, who worked a program with the former champ during WWE's recent tour of Mexico, was sitting ringside on commentary for the Spanish announce team, leading to speculation that he would be involved in the match somehow, but obviously nothing came from this.

This is John Cena's third World Heavyweight Championship reign, and his first since dropping the belt to Edge in 2009.
