Flashback: 2013 TNA Bound for Glory Results (10/20): AJ Styles vs. Bully Ray for the World Title, Kurt Angle No-Sells the Hall of Fame & More

KURT ANGLE vs. BOBBY ROODE

The early goings of the match are slow, with both guys working the mat and trading side headlocks. The crowd has a dueling “Let’s go Angle, let’s go Roode” chant going. Angle with a belly-to-belly suplex, but Roode responds with a big spinebuster. Kurt applies the Ankle Lock, but Roode kicks out of it and sends his opponent into the post. Bobby locks in the Crossface, but Angle gets to the ropes. They trade rights hands, working up to the top rope, and Kurt knocks down his opponent and tries for a huge moonsault but Roode rolls out of the way and immediately locks in the Crossface.

Angle grabs the ankle and rolls through, once again transitioning into the Ankle Lock. Roode also rolls through, back into the Crossface. Angle folds him up into a pin; Roode reverses into a backslide for his own two-count. Roode back into the Crossface for the fifth time, but Angle refuses to tap out. Another reversal and Kurt finds a burst of momentum, hitting the Angle Slam! 1…2…Roode kicks out. Angle with a German suplex, but when he tries for a second Bobby low blows him while the referee’s vision is blocked. He hits a pretty innovative Fireman’s Carry Neckbreaker. Out of nowhere Angle rolls into the Ankle Lock, and the crowd chants for Bobby to tap out. Roode kicks Angle off, but he manages to hold on and grapevines the hold in the center of the ring.

Roode refuses to tap, and after about a minute he appears to be completely passed out. The ref raises his hand, and Roode’s hand falls on the bottom rope. Very weird segment, with the crowd chanting “bullshit” – pretty sure it wasn’t intentional, just bad ref work. Once again they fight up to the top rope, and Kurt hits the Angle Slam off the top rope. Roode barely makes it up for a ten count, and falls on Kurt for the 1-2-3.

WINNER: BOBBY ROODE

After the match, Roode leaves the ring and heads to the back immediately, as a team of medics tend to Kurt Angle. They put him in a stretcher, as he begins to move his arms. They try and carry him out, but Kurt gets off the stretcher and moves on his own.
