Exclusive: Lex Luger on Vince McMahon and the WWE, Sting, Praises Eric Bischoff, Dixie Carter & More

Mike Killam

His relationahip with TNA Hall of Famer Steve "Sting" Borden:

"I just did his induction into the TNA Hall of Fame. A friend is a friend at all times – Proverbs 17:17. I'm very thankful to have him in my life. He's a mentor, he's a friend, he's a confidant. We have a great love for each other, and I treasure that very much. He was there for me through the best of times, and the worst of times. It's hard to really put into words what his friendship means to me."

He also admitted that he would have never went back to WCW if it hadn't been for Sting.

"I wouldn't have. Eric Bischoff wasn't a big Lex Luger fan and if it wasn't for Sting's influence I probably wouldn't have gotten the opportunity. Once I came in he took great care of me. He took care of me financially. He said, "I can't bring in anything big right now, but if you pan out I'll take care of you." Man, he did. He renewed contracts ahead of time. He rewarded me for all the hard work we were putting in. I have no complaints about Eric Bischoff. He didn't have to be a fan of mine; he was a good business man."

Lex's thoughts on the current financial issues and negative press that TNA is dealing with:

"They worked long and hard in developing that company. It would be a shame to see it just go up in smoke, you know? I wish them the best. I really like Dixie; I got to see her again at the Hall of Fame. She really loves the business and the company, so I'd like to see them succeed for sure. I don't know [Dixie Carter] well, but she's always been wonderful to me. We sat together at the Hall of Fame, and was just a first class lady."
