Jake “The Snake” Roberts Has Comments For Vince McMahon & More

I recently spoke to Jake "The Snake" Roberts on Wrestling Reality 1 on 1 with Justin LaBar on TribLIVE Radio in Pittsburgh.

Here are some highlights of what Roberts had to say…

Last time you felt this good physically:

“I'd say 1994, 1993 maybe. I'll tell you this right out front, man, each day it keeps coming in my mind, I will be back in the ring. I will make an impact somewhere.”

If you came up today when the locker room is cleaner and more regulated—would you have had as many addiction problems:

“I don't think so. I don't think I would have made it as far as I did. My problems weren't just drugs and alcohol. I had a lot of mental problems.”

More comments:

“I take Antabuse now when I go on the road. Not because I think I'm going to drink. If I was going to war, chances are I'd wear armor. Chances are I'd carry a gun. I'd armor myself. That's what I'm doing, I'm armoring myself.”

“Today I see the guys out there, their clean, their sober, god bless them. I know they've cut their work schedule down quite a bit because I'll tell you the truth man, there is no way you could have made it back in the day without taking some type of drug.”

“I'd like to be involved in wrestling again. I know I can write better than anyone. I know I can do interviews better than anyone.”

“Vince, you mind as well sign me up for the Royal Rumble because one way or the other I'm going to get in that ring.”

“I don't wanna join your [Vince] kiss your ass club but I'm humble. I just want to help wrestling.”
